Since 1973, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) has been a leader in the movement to end sexual violence. BARCC empowers survivors of sexual violence to heal and provides education and advocacy for the social change needed to create cultures that prevent sexual violence. The role

Our Case Management team is looking for a new, full-time, Bilingual Economic Stability Case Manager. Youll work closely with our Senior Case Manager and Bilingual Case Managerwho provide services to clients in English, Spanish, and Lugandaand our Client Services team to be the bridge for our Spanish- and English-speaking survivors of sexual violence in developing economic stability by accessing public benefits, employment, and educational opportunities. Your work will further BARCCs mission of ending sexual violence through healing and social change.

Where and when youll work

BARCC's staff, operations, hours, and location vary by function, type of work, and work style. Youll split your time working three days from our Cambridge office, located at 99 Bishop Allen Drive, and two days from our Waltham office, located on Crescent Street, with occasional local travel for client accompaniments.

This is a 40-hour, full time position. You can expect to work regularly Monday through Friday. Two days a week you will have evening client hours until 8:00 p.m. BARCC is open to discussing options such as flexibility in scheduling and occasional remote work.

What youll do

Project development:
Inform the development of our economic stability case management services.
Identify systems barriers that clients encounter, and work in collaboration with clients, team members, and external providers to reduce barriers.
Build and maintain a list of economic stability resources
Participate in trainings to grow and maintain knowledge of benefits, rights, and eligibility changes.
Attend coalition and round table meetings to network, build relationships with providers, and gain understanding of existing resources to address clients economic needs.
Develop trainings for other providers about economic self-sufficiency opportunities for survivors.
Keep up with documentation, data recording, and other essential, administrative responsibilities.

Direct work with survivors and their families:
Support clients in setting goals related to their economic stability, career, education advancement, and finances, using the empowerment model.
Facilitate client access and application for employment opportunities, unemployment insurance, public benefits, education advancement, and financial education (e.g., credit counseling, budgeting assistance, etc.).
Identify and resolve barriers that delay survivors in accessing and maintaining economic stability opportunities (e.g., CORI issues, immigration status, disability, etc.).
Accompany survivors through the process of applying for public benefits at the Department of Transitional Assistance.

General responsibilities:
Be an ambassador of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
Participate in regular individual and team supervision, as well as staff meetings.
Collaborate on other projects as needed.

Youll bring

Bicultural Spanish and English fluency, both written and verbal.
1+ year(s) of experience providing direct service to low income individuals and families, preferably case management, public benefits, economic resources, or housing assistance.
Experience working with people in crisis, preferably those who have experienced trauma.
Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, and possess excellent communication and comfortable working with a computer database.
Demonstrated commitment to BARCCs mission and philosophy.

Starting salary range and benefits

$40,000$44,000, depending on experience and skills. The total compensation package includes a generous benefits package, including health, dental, vacation, sick time, and other coverage options.
