Job Description:
Announcing an exciting opportunity to join a high-quality team of dedicated professionals providing cutting edge substance abuse treatment services. The Village is recognized as a leading provider of client-focused and evidence-based care for individuals experiencing substance use disorders, trauma-related concerns and other mental health issues.

This position will focus on individuals and families affected by substance use. It will utilize best practice models of treatment, including feedback-informed, solution focused, relapse prevention, and incentive-based treatment models to assist our clients with their recovery from alcohol and drug related issues. The clinician in this program will participate in outpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care, and may serve as a primary clinician in our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to adults using evidence-based practices and feedback-informed therapy models; Coordinates with client and family, as appropriate, to develop person- and/or family-centered Treatment Plan; Serves as member of multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with clinical staff, primary care providers, community support workers/programs, and peers; Provides clinical, and administrative supervision to staff and interns, when assigned; Participates in Quality Assurance and Utilization Review for the agency; Assists in implementing programmatic and agency priorities within the clinical programs.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing direct services to clients which may include:
Assessment and engagement
DSM 5 Diagnosis, in consultation with Supervisor and Medical Director or designated Psychiatrist
Collaborating with clients in the formulation of client-centered treatment plans, including effective implementation of treatment plan, modifying it as appropriate during the course of treatment
Utilizing client-generated feedback to inform clinical activities and practice; monitoring and tracking such information; documenting client information in the client record
Performing effective discharge planning which may include linkages to community support services
Providing appropriate case management services when necessary for client care
Meeting assigned productivity targets as determined by service
Providing clinical and administrative supervision to interns when assigned, including orientation, evaluation, support and development monitoring.
Completing, accurately and on time, all clinical documentation, reports and any other documentation required by agency policies and procedures, HIPAA regulations, Joint Commission standards and funding sources requirements.
Facilitating Peer Consultation and Quality Assurance; participates in Utilization Review.
Working as a team member with other clinical and administrative staff to meet client and programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Partnering with Supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth.
Partnering with Supervisor and other program or clinical staff to identify and develop approaches to address clients unmet needs or service gaps.
Contributing to program functioning by assuming responsibility for special tasks or leadership in special projects as appropriate.
Participating in Clinical Supervisor and management trainings, as requested.
Contributing to agency organizational life by participating in agency wide task forces, committees or problem solving teams, as appropriate.
Contributing to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees, when assigned.
Acquiring and maintaining the needed skills in evidenced based models that the agency/ program provide.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience and Skills:

Educational Requirements: Masters degree in social work, psychology, marriage & family therapy or a related social service field.
Licensure Requirements: Licensed (or license-eligible) as a LCSW, LMFT, LPC or Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.
Experience Level: Must have significant clinical experience with populations served by the Village, and specialization is desirable. Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations. Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy. Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, including strong skills in clinical documentation. Ability to function autonomously in day to day responsibilities; yet, seek consultation appropriately when needed. Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills.
Personal Characteristics: Ability to work as a strong member of multidisciplinary team; strong and effective leadership skills; demonstrates flexibility in approach to job and others; is perceptive, insightful, self-reflecting, and aware of impact on others; shows good judgment in pressured situations.
Cultural Competency: Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish) is strongly preferred. Familiarity, sensitivity, and/or experience working with diverse populations.
